Blooming Buds School Moga celebrated ‘World Heritage Day’
Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution in Moga city, which has made a distinct identity for itself under the able leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini, celebrated ‘World Heritage Day’ during morning assembly. During this, the students presented charts and articles related to World Heritage Day. While presenting the article, they said that the aim of World Heritage Day is to increase knowledge about cultural heritage and monuments and to sensitize people for their conservation. Therefore, this day is also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. On this occasion, the school principal, while addressing the students, said that in 1982, the International Council on Monuments and Sites proposed that April 18 should be celebrated as World Heritage Day. This proposal was later approved by UNESCO in the 22nd General Conference in 1983. Instructing the students, she said that we should take up the task of preserving our heritage. She said in a statement that on one side we talk about preserving our heritage, but on the other side we defile many ancient buildings by writing our names on them. Instead of preserving the precious heritage given by our ancestors, we spoil them. She informed the students about many monuments and places in India and while talking, said that the main purpose of celebrating such a day in school is to connect the students with their history and increase their knowledge. School Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini told the children that India is a vast country and Indian culture is considered the oldest in the world. There are many buildings that are a testament to the thousands of years old culture like forts, palaces, caves, temples, mosques, gurudwaras, pillars, statues, inscriptions, etc. are found in different corners of India. All these buildings bear witness to Indian culture and civilization. She told the children that taking care of these buildings is not just the government’s job, but it is also the moral responsibility of all of us. She also told the children that whenever they go on a trip to any historical place, they should keep that place clean and ensure its safety. All the staff and students were present on this occasion.
