Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of the area, organized an Inter-House Science Olympiad for students from Class 1 to Class 12 at under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. The main objective of this Olympiad was to increase students’ interest in the subject of science and to hone their abilities. On this occasion, School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani paid floral tribute to Vikram Sarabhai, founder of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), on his birth anniversary, and launched the Science Olympiad, dedicating it to his memory. She informed that more than 300 students from Class 1 to Class 12 participated enthusiastically in this competition. The competition was held among the school’s four houses — Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green House.
Students for this Olympiad were selected in three stages. In the first stage, 8 students were selected from each section, including two students from each house. In the next stage, one student was selected from each class and house. In the final stage, students who performed best in a quiz were selected for the final round. Students were divided into groups according to their age and class level — Classes 1–2, Classes 3–4, Classes 5–6, Classes 7–8, Classes 9–10, and Classes 11–12. In the final round, one student from each group was chosen as the winner.
From the Class 1–2 group, Drishti Sethi (Blue House) secured first place. In Classes 3–4, Satveer Singh (Yellow House) was the winner. In Classes 5–6, Aditya Singh (Red House) won; in Classes 7–8, Ishaan Jaidka (Green House) and Nehchalpreet Kaur (Red House) were winners; in Classes 9–10, Khushman Sharma was the winner; and from the Classes 11–12 group, Mankirat Kaur (Blue House) was the winner.
Great enthusiasm was seen among the students during the competition. The students demonstrated their talent by quickly and logically solving various questions related to the three branches of science — physics, chemistry, and biology.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani said that the winning students of the Olympiad would be honoured with trophies. She said that such competitions strengthen the spirit of competition, self-confidence, reasoning ability, and teamwork among students. She added that Blooming Buds School remains always committed to the all-round development of students, and with this objective, academic, sports, cultural, and creative activities are organized in the school from time to time.
